Forget monthly fees and cloud-dependent subscriptions. Microsoft Word 2019 is the standalone, perpetual-license version of the world's most trusted word processor, giving you a complete professional writing environment that lives entirely on your Windows PC. Whether you are drafting a complex legal contract, polishing a doctoral thesis, or writing the next great novel, this is the focused, distraction-free tool that has defined document creation for decades — now available as a one-time purchase that never expires.

This is the full desktop application, not a stripped-down web version. You get precise control over every element of your document, from advanced typography and styles to powerful reviewing and referencing tools. It is designed for professionals, academics, writers, and anyone who needs absolute reliability and complete ownership of their software. With a genuine Retail license from Distivo, you are making a permanent investment in your productivity. Install it, activate it, and it is yours to use for as long as your hardware runs. No recurring costs, no forced upgrades, just pure, uncluttered writing power.

Key features and benefits

• Focus Mode — Minimises visual clutter by fading the ribbon and other interface elements into the background, leaving only your text on a clean canvas. This creates a distraction-free sanctuary for deep work, helping you maintain concentration during long writing sessions.
• Real-Time Co-Authoring — Collaborate with colleagues or editors simultaneously on the same document. You can see where others are working and track their changes as they type, eliminating the chaos of merging multiple versions via email and streamlining the entire review process.
• Learning Tools — An inclusive set of features designed to improve reading fluency and comprehension. Immersive Reader adjusts text spacing, column width, and page colour, while Read Aloud and syllable breakdown help users of all abilities proofread and engage with complex text more effectively.
• Advanced Inking — On touch- and pen-enabled devices, you can draw, sketch, and annotate directly onto the page using digital ink. This is invaluable for providing natural, handwritten feedback on drafts, marking up diagrams, or brainstorming ideas in a freeform way that a keyboard cannot replicate.
• Researcher Panel — A powerful research assistant built directly into the application. Find credible sources, images, and quotes from within Word, and add them to your document with properly formatted citations in your chosen style, saving hours of manual bibliography work.
• Smart Lookup — Gain instant contextual insights by highlighting a word or phrase and searching the web without leaving your document. This feature accelerates fact-checking and deepens your understanding of a topic without breaking your writing flow.
• LaTeX Syntax Support — For academics and scientists, Word 2019 now natively supports LaTeX syntax to create and edit mathematical equations. This bridges the gap between the simplicity of Word and the precision of a dedicated typesetting language.
• SVG and 3D Model Support — Insert and manipulate scalable vector graphics and 3D models to create visually rich, modern documents. You can rotate, tilt, and zoom into 3D objects to show the perfect angle, making reports and presentations far more dynamic.
• Improved Version History — Unlike the auto-save of cloud-only apps, you have full manual control over your files, but can still access a clear, visual history of previous versions during your editing session. This lets you confidently experiment, knowing you can revert to an earlier draft with a single click.
• Dark Mode — A system-wide dark theme extends to the document canvas, reducing eye strain in low-light environments. You can switch between a dark interface with a white page or a fully dark page, providing a comfortable writing experience at any hour.

What's included with your purchase

When you buy Microsoft Word 2019 from Distivo, you are purchasing a single, genuine Retail license key. This is the most flexible consumer license type, digitally linked to your Microsoft account and allowing for future reinstallation on the same machine after hardware changes. Your purchase is a one-time transaction for a permanent, non-expiring license — this is not a monthly or annual subscription.

Immediately after your payment is securely processed, you will receive a confirmation email containing your unique 25-character product key and a link to your personal download page. From there, you can download the official, unmodified Microsoft installation file directly. We also provide a simple, step-by-step activation guide. Your license is valid for 1 PC running Windows 10 or Windows 11, and you can use Word in any of the supported display languages, including English, German, French, Spanish, Italian, Dutch, Polish, Portuguese, and Japanese.

To ensure a smooth experience, your Windows computer should meet these minimum specifications. As this is a standalone 2019 application, it does not require a Microsoft 365 subscription to function.

FAQ — frequently asked questions

Is this a subscription or a one-time purchase?

This is a one-time, perpetual license for Microsoft Word 2019. You pay once and can use the software indefinitely. It is not a Microsoft 365 subscription, so there are no monthly or annual fees.

What is the difference between a Retail and an OEM license?

A Retail license, like this one, is transferable to a new computer if your old one is replaced or decommissioned, as long as it's only active on one device at a time. An OEM license is permanently tied to the first computer it is installed on and cannot be transferred.

How fast will I receive my license key?

Your license key is delivered instantly. As soon as your payment is authorised, you will see it on the order confirmation page and receive it via email, typically in under 60 seconds. You can also access it anytime from your Distivo account dashboard.

Is this a genuine and legal Microsoft license?

Absolutely. Distivo supplies only 100% genuine, unmodified Microsoft licenses sourced through authorised European distribution. You will receive a unique key that passes online activation and is eligible for security updates directly from Microsoft.

What if I have trouble activating the software?

Activation is usually seamless, but if you encounter an error, our free multilingual technical support team is here to help. We can guide you through troubleshooting steps or, in the rare case of a faulty key, provide a replacement.

Can I reinstall Word 2019 on a new computer later?

Yes. As a Retail license, you have the right to transfer it. You will need to deactivate or uninstall it from the old PC. If the automated activation fails on the new hardware, Microsoft's telephone activation system will complete the process.

Does this version of Word work on a Mac?

No. This Microsoft Word 2019 license is exclusively for Windows 10 and Windows 11. It is not compatible with macOS, iOS, or Android. For Mac users, we recommend Microsoft Word for Mac 2021.

What payment methods do you accept?

We offer a secure Stripe checkout that supports all major credit and debit cards, Google Pay, SEPA bank transfers, iDEAL, BLIK, and many other local European payment methods. Your financial data is never stored on our servers.

Do you provide a VAT invoice?

Yes, a detailed VAT invoice is automatically generated for every order and included in your confirmation email. For B2B customers with a valid EU VAT ID, the reverse-charge mechanism can be applied.

What is your refund policy?

You have a 14-day right of withdrawal under EU consumer law. If you have not activated the key, we can issue a full refund. Once a key is activated, it is permanently linked to your hardware, and a refund is no longer possible.

Can I use this license for my business?

Yes, this Retail license is valid for both personal and commercial use. You can use it to create documents for your business, freelance work, or any professional purpose without restriction.
